Yes to more housing, yes to more neighbours
About More Neighbours Calgary
More Neighbours Calgary formed in June of 2023, after the Calgary City Council’s initial rejection of its own Housing Affordability Task Force report made it clear that a pro-housing voice was needed.
Our mandate is to generate political will and grassroots support for people-centred housing policy. We advocate for ending exclusionary zoning practices and allowing for more diverse forms of housing to meet the needs of all Calgarians, regardless of age or wage or stage of life. This includes market and non-market housing.
Anyone who has attended a public hearing or a community consultation knows that housing is politically fraught and divisive. Neighbourhood change is hard and can feel deeply personal. Change creates opportunity though and we must not let nostalgia hold us back from creating a housing system that can meet the needs of a growing population
A truly great city houses its people.
We are non-partisan and 100% volunteer powered.
Core Volunteers are:
Willem Klumpenhouwer
Kathryn Davies
Alex McColl
Nathan Schmidt
Inam Teja
